Chapter Service

As part of Tri Delta’s purpose to develop a stronger and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life, Epsilon Mu has chosen a local philanthropy partner that has a similar mission. Families in Action is an organization based in South Omaha that provides support for the Latino community to help families better their lives and overcome their hardships. The participants draw on each other’s strengths, wisdom and beliefs that their lives can be what they want them to be. Over 8,000 families take part in programming each year, including exercise, educational classes, youth and children’s programming, sewing and micro-business and art projects.

The mission of Families in Action is to come together as women and families to promote health, well being and knowledge and to be role models for our children and community.

Every Wednesday members of Epsilon Mu get together with Families in Action and participate in Zumba fitness together. During that time, we also assist the community’s children with homework or additional educational activities. We host a Zumbathon on Creighton’s campus to raise money for the organization as well.

Many cultures, one purpose: changing women, changing communities.
