Chapter Sisterhood

Open Chapter--The Business can Wait

Once a month, we have open chapter. This is awesome time for us to all just enjoying being sisters! Whether we have an all chapter activity or split off into smaller groups for Dolphin Dates, it is always a nice break to have the only business before the chapter be time spent together!

Deltas Only Events -- Deltas Take Omaha

Delta's Only Events are opportunities for sisters to spend time together...wherever that may take us! We go to Creighton basketball and baseball games, pile into a room on campus for a Girl's Night In, go out for pizza, go to the Apple Orchard, go ice skating, go bowling, the list goes on and on!

Bigs & Littles -- It's the Little things that make a Big difference

One of the best parts about Tri Delta is getting paired with a Big & Little. Each year, a new member is paired with an older member of the sorority (usually a sophomore) to help guide them through their time as a Tri Delta. Families are big deal, with members this year tracing their "lineage" all the way back to the founding members of Epsilon Mu (talk about big shoes to fill!) After Ritual on Big/Little reveal day, families usually grab lunch with the newest additions and continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship.

Alpha Week -- A whole week dedicated to welcoming the newest pearls into the family!

Activities are held each night in order to get to know the new members! This year we had a craft night, a Big/Little speed dating night, a movie night (which turned into more laughing and talking than watching the movie), and of course the traditional stop at Jones Bros Cupcakes!

Delta Week -- Anticipating Initiation!

The week before Initiation, we host a week of events to bring the chapter together and prepare to officially welcome the new members into our sisterhood! Past events have included game nights, pizza outings, trips to the ice cream shop, and of course, Dolphin Dates.

Founder's Day -- Celebrating Tri Delta's amazing legacy with spaghetti and our sisters

Each year on the date of Tri Delta's founding by Sarah Ida Shaw (November 27, 1888 if you're wondering), we get together with the Omaha Alumnae Chapter, have dinner together, and celebrate the amazing women that have come before us. This past year, we feasted on a four-course meal at an Omaha favorite, Spaghetti Works. Ritual followed, allowing time for reflection and appreciation for Sarah Ida's gift 126 years ago.

Senior Week -- Saying "See you later," not "Goodbye"

One of the hardest things to do each year, but we send our senior sisters out with a bang! We have a full week of activities dedicated to celebrating the contribution of each of our soon-to-be graduates. The schedule varies each year, but each year the younger pledge classes cook a huge dinner for the chapter (the seniors don't have to lift a finger!) and send them off for a night of fun and sisterhood!
